General Information...

Posters and Abstracts

This year you can submit either a poster or an abstract.
The posters should serve as a basis for discussion and are an addition to your presentations. They should show the main results of your work as well as important working tools. The posters of a session will be exhibited in the conference room during the day, so there will be time to see and discuss the posters during the breaks. The format of the posters will be DIN A1.
If you prefer to write an abstract, you can also do so. For both poster and abstract, templates can be downloaded in the Download section. All posters will be printed in a Book (DIN A4) and distributed among all participants at the beginning of the colloquium.

High Ropes Course

On Monday evening we will go for a funny outdoor event - a high ropes course. For those of you who don't know what a high ropes course is, you can find a description on wikipedia. The high ropes course we are going to visit is located in Sankt Augustin, 30 km south of Cologne:

Unfortunately, the website is only in German. But you can find some pictures in the 'Galerie' section, and then choose 'Waldklettergarten Sankt Augustin' or use the following link:

.

Of course, the participation is voluntary. In the high ropes course, there exist different levels of difficulty, all of which are completely voluntary as well.
Be aware that for the participation an average physical condition is necessary. If you suffer from any severe illness (e.g. a cardiovascular disease, a chronic illness) or if you take medicaments, this might constrain your participation. In any case, inform and ask the trained staff in the high ropes course. They will be available at any time for your questions.
For those who don't want to go through the High Ropes Course, there will be an archery course offered. In case of bad weather, we will go for indoor soccer instead of the high ropes course.

Things to bring with you
For tackling the high ropes course, it is most important to bring appropriate footwear with you, that means closed-toe shoes. Comfortable clothes that you don't mind getting a bit dirty and that will keep you warm and dry are also important. Therefore we ask you to bring the following things with you:
- Sturdy footwear, i.e. closed-toe shoes (e.g. light hiking shoes or sport shoes, no sandals or high heels)
- Comfortable long trouser
- Warm jacket or sweater
- Rain coat
- Sport pants and shirt (for the indoor soccer, in case of bad weather)
